On Saturday June 15th, Rutgers School of Dental Medicine alumni took part in a volunteer event in Dover, NJ. Known as “Smiles for our Heroes.” Veterans received free dental care as well as other health services and resources. Among the 126 volunteers were dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists and administrators. Seventy-one veterans received dental care, with many procedures being completed. The annual event was sponsored by Zufall Health with a grant from “The Delta Dental Foundation,” in addition to support by seven partners with vendor tables. There was food, fun, music and an overall sense of camaraderie, all while serving those who have served us.
