2025 Annual Awards Dinner

On April 30th, the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, Omega-Omega Chapter held its annual awards dinner at Nanina’s in the park, in Belleville, NJ.  This annual event celebrates the hard work and achievement of RSDM students, as they are recognized with awards and membership in the OMICRON KAPPA UPSILON, National Dental Honor Society.

It was another year of the recognition of outstanding achievement by students and faculty alike. This special event was shared by faculty, staff, family and the accomplished students at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.  The evening culminated with the distribution of awards, along with alumni, faculty and a lifetime memberships presented by chapter President, Dr. Donald Lapine and President-Elect, Dr. Thomas Scorziello.  Certificates of Academic Excellence were awarded to student doctors Qais Awad ’28 and Rachel Handelman ’27.  Each received a $1,000 award from the OKU-Omega Omega Scholarship Foundation.  The Anthony R. Volpe Excellence in Research Award was given to student doctor Victoria Reznikov from the class of ’26 which also included an award of $1,000 from the OKU-Omega Omega Scholarship Foundation. This year’s Dr. William S. Kramer Award of Excellence was given to student doctor Daniel Kim from the class of ’26 and was accompanied by a $10,000 award from the OKU-Omega Omega Scholarship Foundation. The memberships of the evening were the induction of Alumni members, representing the best and brightest in the class of 2025.  They are Marissa Bocchiaro, Brett Chappell, Hannah Ciullo, Kinga Dabek, Ashley Hay, Samara Kaplan, Georgina Stampelos, Eli Travis, Rebekah Webster and Zeeshan Zahid.  Faculty memberships were awarded to Dr. Peter Duda and Dr. Craig Hirschberg.  Life Membership was awarded to Dr. Kim Fenesy.
